Win-Some Women is a fellowship of inter-denominational women drawn together by their common desire to share the reality of Jesus Christ. This fellowship has developed a practical and vital ministry and has grown to serve women from all over Michigan, several other states and Canada.
The Win-Some Women Retreats had their origin in 1971. In the fall of that year, Jean Murphy and Glo McAlister started a neighborhood Bible Study Class in Petoskey. By the spring of 1972, twenty women were attending. A luncheon was held at This Old House in Conway, Michigan, with fifty women present, and the first retreat was being planned. The following retreats took place in Bay View and at the Petoskey High School. God blessed these efforts with an increasing attendance each year - necessitating the move in 1976 to Boyne Mountain Convention Center. Over 1,000 women from 80 different communities attended the fall retreat annually. In 1994, He opened the door for Win-Some Women to minister through a spring retreat at Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. The tradition of two spring retreats began in 1996. Currently, Win-Some Women ministers to nearly 6,000 women each year at Grand Hotel with three spring retreats and three fall retreats.
